Each "print" actually starts out as a glyph painting with using ink, which you can view in the corresponding video clip. The hand carved blocks are then stamped and hand colored for detail. Each print is a unique piece of art and may vary slightly from the one in the photo.
This is third print of the zodiac series for 2021, the Taurus. Hand printed block print on beveled sugar cane printing paper. printed with water based ink. Print image measures give or take 6 x 7 inches on a 9 x 12 inch piece of paper. Open edition.
A little about myself (Rebecca Cristante):
For those I haven't introduced myself to yet, or in while, I have been handcarving and block printing prints and textiles for 11 years. (And painting before that.) Every print you purchase from me was drawn and printed with my own hands, not a digital printer. One day I may sell digital "prints of my prints", but while my hands are able I'd like to use them. Every print has a piece of me in it that way, which I still believe is the way art should be.
